
I had been a lifelong Sony customer and decided to give Samsung a try for my TV purchase after reading reviews on Samsung quality. This was my first major purchase with Samsung.
The Best Buy Repair technician after changing a few internal motherboards advised that the panel itself had gone bad and cannot be repaired. Unfortunately I did not buy an extended warranty from Best Buy. I also called Samsung Executive customer relations and they refused to take ownership of the problem saying "Tough luck" you are S.O.L. without warranty. Basically, Samsung sold me a lemon.
I am now looking at a $2800 paper weight in my living room when I look at my Samsung TV everyday.
My advice to anyone considering Samsung is to stay away, as the company does not stand by its product even for widespread product quality issues. Stick with your trusted brands! Samsung is no Sony!
I may be looking to do something similar if I get no respolution from Samsung soon!
